Desert Prize
Last Saturday my beau returned from his month long business trip to the California desert with a gift in hand. Thoughtful guy that he is, he stopped in at Ricochet Vintage Wears in Joshua Tree and found me this lovely item:

I'm always curious to know more about my vintage items but alas I couldn't make out the stamp on the back side of this butterfly.
Determined to discover something about this pin I searched "abalone butterfly" on Etsy and found many that looked similar, such as this beauty:
Turns out my little butterfly may very well be from the 1950s or 60s and was very possibly made in Mexico!
