Earworm: Some of These Days

Don't forget about the Century Give Away,  just 8 days left to enter!

I'm most familiar with this song as covered by Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire but there are many other fine versions out there.

Note: for best viewing stop the music at the bottom of the page or follow the videos directly to youtube.

Originally written and composed by Shelton Brooks in 1910, Sophie Tucker recorded many versions of "Some of These Days", in fact, it became her signature. This version dates from 1927.

A few years later, in 1927, Bing Crosby recorded his own version. Gotta love Bing.

Andrew Bird and his Bowl of Fire covered this song on the 1997 release "Thrills". Here is a live performance, courtesy of a youtube user, filmed in August of '09. Bird is an immensely talented musician, makes me want to play the violin.
